Obituary

LOUISE WILEY POFF departed into the Hands of God on January 4, 2009.

Born December 12, 1914 in New Park, she was the daughter of the late T. Ross and Effie Brown Wiley. She was married to the late Hugh A. (Henny) Poff for 63 years.

Louise graduated from Fawn Twsp High School, George School and Thompson Business School, worked for Phila. Electric Company's Delta office, Delta Packing Plant, statistician for the So. York County Dairymen's Assoc., had served as Tax Collector for Delta Borough, Republican Committee Woman and Majority Inspector of Elections, had been an officer of the Harford County Chapter of the National Banking Women's Assoc. and retired as Asst. VP of the former Commercial and Savings Bank (BB&T) in Bel Air, Md.

She was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice and sang from a very young age at her home church, Centre Presbyterian and later as a choir member and soloist at Slateville Presbyterian where she was a member for over 55 years. She also sang with a Maryland Choral group for several years.

Her many gifts included knitting, sewing and making beautiful, award winning quilts and wall hangings-she was a long time member of "Quilting on the Line" and served as treasurer, secretary and vice president. Louise was an active member and supporter of the Delta Senior Center and a member from its inception, of the Delta Sr. Center Art Class where she enjoyed the friendship of other class members, participated in the annual York County Senior Art Show and completed many wonderful paintings. She was also a member of the Sr. Center's Block of the Month class every year.

She was Past Matron and life member of the former Penn-Mary Chapter of the O.E.S.

Much loved, she is survived by two daughters and their husbands-

Phyllis and Raymond Watkins of Delta with whom she resided and

Kathy and E. Scott Tomlinson of Whiteford, Md

Three grandchildren-Thomas Watkins of E. Manchester, Pa

Steven Watkins of Emmitsburg, Md

And Diane Watkins, Delta.

Two Step Grandchildren-

Sandra Tomlinson, Huntington Beach, Ca. and Earl Tomlinson, III of Blue Bell, Pa.

Six Great Grandchildren, Six Step Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great Grandson.

Her sister, Jean Morris, Fawn Grove and was predeceased by her sister, Miriam Taylor.

A service of celebration of Louise's life will be held at Slateville Presbyterian Church, 308 Slateville Road, Delta, Pa. with her Pastor Carletta Curley on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11 AM.
