Margaret C. Matheny, age 73 years of Delta, Pennsylvania and formerly of Baltimore, Maryland and Beckley, West Virginia died at her home at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009. She was the wife of Roy Lee Matheny who died in 2002.

Mrs. Matheny was born on May 18, 1935 in Baltimore a daughter of the late Charles F. and Maria (Hansen) Shook. A longtime resident of Beckley, she moved to Delta following the death of her husband. She was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 32, Beckley, West Virginia. She enjoyed working puzzle books and watching Walker, Texas Ranger.

She is survived by:

Two daughters: Margaret Basham and her husband Paul of Seattle, Washington Theresa Trent and her husband Rob of Beckley, West Virginia

One sister: Eleanora B. Pakacki, with whom she resided in Delta

Sister-in-Law: Melody Corasaniti of Delta

Five grandchildren: Jennifer Ann Basham, Anthony Basham, Vicky Matheny and Ronnie and Lisa Mullins

Four great grandchildren: Hayley and Brianna Basham and Joshua and Brianna Mullins.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Francis Harrison and Mary Cayer and her brother, James Shook.

Pastor Doug McClean of the Calvary Chapel, Delta will officiate at a private memorial service.
