Marlene Roles of Street, MD peacefully transitioned from our world on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Broad Creek Manor Assisted Living in Whiteford, MD. Marlene is now with her late husband of over 60 years, David Roles, who passed away in December 2019.

Marlene was born 91 years ago in Gloucester, England, the daughter of the late William and Ellaline (Wasley) Cole. Her love of dogs began there. Marlene endured bombings and air raids during WWII. She met David and after a few years they emigrated to the US, to Baltimore, where they joined David's two sisters and their families.

Marlene was employed by Montgomery-Ward for 20 years. Her true love was breeding and showing Golden Retrievers, a hobby she pursued for over 40 years, whelping over 25 litters of puppies.

Marlene enjoyed vacationing at the Ocean and cruising with her husband and family. She also enjoyed gardening, making family dinners, playing cards, and feeding her birds.

Marlene was vivacious, fun-loving, generous and had an incredible sense of humor. To know her was to love her. She will be missed by her many friends and her family.

Three children: Nicholas Roles and his wife, Trudy of Street, MD

Michelle Morsberger and her husband, Clifton of Fredericksburg, VA

Randy Roles and his wife, Lea of Conyers, GA

One sister: Sonia McCombie of Hanover, VA

One brother: Nigel Brooks and his wife, Barbara of Simpsonville, SC

Also, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
