MARSHALL D. "Jake" BURKINS, SR., age 81 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Manor Care South in York, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Elsie (Jones) Burkins, and recently they celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Born on April 26, 1930 in Peach Bottom Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania; he was the youngest child of the late Delmar and Elsie (Wright) Burkins. Mr. Burkins had been a truck driver for many years, retiring in 1992 from Davis Concrete. Driving for the former Stateso, he had worked in the quarry industry of the local area. He had lifetime memberships with Delta-Cardiff V.F.C. and the North Harford Fish & Game. Mr. Burkins enjoyed hunting with his family.

Marshall Burkins, Jr., and his wife, Lisa: James Burkins and his wife, Sandra, both of Delta, Pennsylvania

A daughter, Jean Grafton and her husband, Charles of Windsor, Pennsylvania

Two grandsons-

Steve Burkins of Delta, Pennsylvania

William Grafton and his wife, Lauren of York, Pennsylvania

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Flahart and Dorothy Fields and brother, Arthur Burkins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania. Pastor Judy L. Walker of Delta United Methodist Church will officiate.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
