Born on July 24, 1931 in the Chestnut Hill Area of Forest Hill, MD, she was a daughter of the late E. Irving and Bernice (Greene) Harkins and a longtime member of Emory United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and served on the board of trustees. Additional office responsibilities were held in numerous agricultural organizations including 19 years as treasurer for the former Dublin-Darlington Coop., a milk hauling company, until the business was sold. A Maryland 4-H All Star herself, Mrs. Glasgow donated her time and talents as a 4-H club leader for nearly 20 years helping to encourage the love of farming in local youth members.
