Obituary

MARY F. ISENNOCK JACKSON, age 83 years, of Darlington, Maryland died on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 6:15 p.m. at the Forest Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center in Forest Hill, Maryland. She was the wife of the late Archer E. Isennock and the late Earl David Jackson.

Mrs. Jackson was born on June 28, 1922 in West Chester, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Frazure and Mary (Ingstadt) Fulmer. Mrs. Jackson spent her childhood in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and graduated from the local high school. Mrs. Jackson was very energetic in every endeavor with which she was associated.

While her husband served in Europe during WWII, she assisted her father in his house painting business. When her husband returned from the war, they moved to Harford County, Maryland where she began working as a seamstress at several sewing factories. She later worked in the meat department for the A&P Grocery stores at both their Bel Air and Aberdeen, Maryland locations. Short of being a butcher, she handled all other aspects of the department operation for many years.

She took great delight in the adolescence of her children and was very enthusiastic about their activities. Mrs. Jackson was always ready to load the neighborhood children in the car and take them to events. She could be seen at the roller rink with them, swimming with them or riding the rides at the former Lenape Park, an amusement park that was located between West Chester and Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and worked the Good News Club at the Evangelical Methodist Church in Dublin, Maryland. Later, when her daughter, Mary Brown and her husband, Gerald returned from his ministerial work in Texas, she worshipped with them at his church, Bible Baptist Church in Aberdeen, Maryland. She volunteered tirelessly for any and all church activities and events and could always be counted on to provide meals, cakes, soups or whatever was needed.

Her love of the violin was passed on to her two children.
