Marine Corps Ball with her late husband, Albert Maryemma Moulton Benson, age 84 years of Street, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2011 in Niceville, Florida due to natural causes. She was married on February 2, 1946 to M/SGT Albert Jefferson Benson, Jr. who died on February 8, 1983. She was born on April 3, 1927 in a log cabin on the family farm in Street, MD, a daughter of the late Oscar Stokes and Mildred Marie Fickus Moulton.

Maryemma was a Marine Corps wife and enjoyed traveling with her husband and participating in military functions. She raised a son, John Allen Benson, who she was very close to.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Melissa Macfarlane of Mary Esther, FL and Dawn Kellar of Riverview, FL; three great grandchildren, Brittany Benson, Daniel Benson, and Joseph Vavrik; brother, Charles Carroll Moulton and his wife, Geraldine Shimek Moulton of Street, MD; brother-n-law, Louis O. Benson and his wife, Mary Benson of Glen Burnie, MD; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Benson of Niceville. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son TSgt John Allen Benson.

Visitation will be held at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA on Friday, July 29, 2011 from 6 - 8 p.m. Services will be held at Harkins Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11a.m. with the Rev. Nick McDonald officiating.

Interment will be in Broad Creek Quaker Cemetery in Darlington, MD.

A luncheon will be served at the Church of the Ascension parish house following the funeral on Saturday.
