Matthew David Scott, 51, of Chester Springs, PA, died at home on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He was born in York, PA, to his parents, William Joseph and Diane (Eaton) Scott.

Matthew was a 1990 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School and a 1994 graduate of Penn State. While at Penn State, he obtained his Bachelor's degree and then attended Loyola University to obtain his Master's degree. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Matthew was a fantastic teacher and coach at North Penn High School in Landsdale, PA. He was a role model to the students he coached on the basketball court and those he taught in the classroom. Faith was an important part of who Matthew was; he loved and believed in the Lord.

When not coaching or in the classroom, Matthew could be found spending time with his children. He especially enjoyed fishing with them, whether in a pond, ocean, or the bay. Matthew loved and was active in many sports, if they did not have a fishing trip scheduled; they were usually being coached by Dad.

In addition to his mother, Matthew is survived by his two children, Collin and Cameron Scott. Left to cherish his memories is a host of family and friends, especially his colleagues at North Penn High School.

Matthew was predeceased by his father, William Joseph Scott.

A visitation with family will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 South Market St, Fawn Grove, PA from 11 am until 12:30 pm. A Memorial Service will begin in the church at 12:30 pm, officiated by Pastor Shawna Ridge, of Thorndale United Methodist Church and Pastor Tim Funk, of Fawn United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will take place immediately following the Memorial Service at the cemetery adjoining the church.
