MERTHA E. (JACKIE) RUFF, age 84 years, died on Friday, April 8, 2011 in her home in York, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Ralph G. Ruff who died in 1971.

Born on Christmas Day in 1926, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Catherine M. (Donnan) Cooper. Mrs. Ruff had been a lifetime resident of Delta. She enjoyed talking walks, flowers, watching professional wrestling on the television and spending time with her family.

She is survived by:

Rose Schaefer and her husband, Dick of Bel Air, Maryland

Linda Wolf and her husband, Jim of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania

Shirley Getz and her husband, Charles Ford of Dallastown, Pennsylvania

Peggy Moore and her husband, Mike Broman of York, Pennsylvania

Ralph Ruff, Jr. and his wife, Linda of New Park, Pennsylvania

Donald Ruff and his wife, Brenda of Dover, Pennsylvania

A brother, Leonard Cooper of West Chester, Pennsylvania

Fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Ruff.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with Pastor Dennis L. McCleary of Mt. Nebo and Mt. Olivet United Methodist Churches to officiate.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Crouse, Joe Stike, Brian Stike, Tyler Moore, Donny Ruff and Zachary Stike.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Stike, Matt Stike and Richard Stike.
