MERVIN WALLACE AMREIN, age 83 years of Joppa, Maryland died peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 1:25 AM at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He and his wife, Louise (Iley) Amrein shared sixty-three years of marriage.
Mr. Amrein was born on January 17, 1922 in Fallston, Maryland; he was a son of the late Lewis and Annetta Louise (Snider) Amrein. He was a WWII United States Army Veteran serving in England.
Mr. Amrein originally from Fallston, had resided in Joppa for over forty-three years. He had owned and operated the former Amrein & Iley General Store on Main Street in Fallston. He later worked in public relations for the former Commercial & Savings Bank of Bel Air, Maryland for ten years while he owned and operated a whole sale produce business. He retired in 1986.
He was a past member of the Bel Air Lions Club and a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in Street, Maryland.
Family members remarked that he loved horses and horse racing, gardening and appreciated flowers. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends weekly.

Jeromy Amrein of Perry Hall, Maryland
Justin Amrein of Perryville, Maryland
Danna Amrein of Port Deposit, Maryland
Donna Panzer of Baltimore, Maryland
Kimberly Panzer and Michelle Panzer, both of Tuluka Lake, California
Nicholas Panzer and Christopher Panzer, both of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania
Five great grandchildren:
Emma Amrein and Alex Amrein, both of Perry Hall, Maryland
Trevor Amrein of Perryville, Maryland
Bridgett Heath and Rachel Heath, both of Duluth, Georgia
One brother:
George Amrein of Albermarle, North Carolnia
Two sisters:
Mabel Scarborough of Glen Arm, Maryland
Francis Amrein Smith. of White Hall, Maryland
He was preceded in death by seven siblings: Helen Amrein, Clara Fritsche, Minnie Amos, Ruth Smith, Carl Amrein, Elwood Amrein, and Willard Amrein.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 11:30 AM at Highland Presbyterian Church, 701 Highland Road, Street, Maryland with Reverend Henry W. Heaps presiding.
Viewing will be held at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 10:00-11:15 AM.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
