MILDRED A. "MIDGE" STEWART, 91 years of Whiteford, MD, died on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Stewart and at the time of his death, they had shared 55 years of marriage.

Born on October 16, 1923 in Delta, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Hollingsworth and Pauline (Smith) Ailes. Midge was a graduate of the former Delta High School and was a local lifetime resident. A bookkeeper, she had worked for Harris Electric in Fawn Grove, PA in addition to alongside her late husband on the family dairy farm. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren as well as working outdoors in her flowers. A member for over 70 years at Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, Midge had served on the Board of Deacons.

David E. Stewart and his wife, Debbie of Whiteford, MD

Three siblings all living in Delta, PA-

Jane Williams, William Ailes and Joseph Ailes

A sister-in-law, Grace Ailes of Red Lion, PA

Three grandchildren-

Gregory Stewart and his wife, Mary; Julie Stafford and her husband, Thomas; Jonathan Stewart

Four great grandchildren-

Abigail, Brooke, Zachary and Bradley

She was preceded in death by siblings – Edwin and Isabel

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1630 Chestnut Street, Cardiff, MD 21160 with Reverend James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church officiating.

Interment will be next to her late husband in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA.
