MILDRED LEE HANLIN, age 81 years, died on Thursday, July 3, 2008 in her home in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of William R. Russell Hanlin who died on October 19, 1989.
Mrs. Hanlin was born on August 18, 1926 in Barton, Maryland; she was a daughter of Mathew Wellington and Lulu (Margruder) Longridge. She had worked for over thirty years at Lever Brothers Company, one of the largest soap manufacturers in the country. She had moved to the Fawn Grove area from Essex, Maryland over eleven years ago.
Mrs. Hanlin was a member of the Lever Brothers Retiree Club, Quarter Century Club at Lever Brothers, Jarrettsville VFW Post #8672, Delta Senior Center and the Fawn Grove Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed shopping, eating out and spending time with her friends.
She is survived by:
A daughter, Peggy Hoffman and her husband Bruce of Fawn Grove
Two grandchildren-
Kathi Goodman of Fawn Grove
Christine Hoffman of San Diego, California
Three great grandchildren-
Matthew, Tyler and Christopher Coleman, all of Fawn Grove
Several nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 8 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.
The funeral service will begin following the evening visitation at 8 PM with her pastor, Reverend Jeff Mason officiating.
Interment will be held in Holly Hills Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road, Baltimore, Maryland on Thursday, July 10th at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice, 3417-C Concord Road, Suite 5, York, PA 17402.
