MILLARD ELMO BLANEY, age 86 years of Delta, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the York Lutheran Home in York, PA. He was the husband of the late Mary F. Blaney.
Born on May 22, 1925 in Rocks, Maryland, he was a son of the late Samuel G. and Mabel I. (Taylor) Blaney. Mr. Blaney was a WWII Army veteran serving in the Liberation of the Philippines under the late General Douglas MacArthur and on hand for the "I Shall Return" speech. In addition, Mr. Blaney's service to his country is recorded in the Library of Congress.
Mr. Blaney retired after 25 years of service working as a carpenter at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County, MD in 1976. He attended Delta Church of the Nazarene and Delta United Methodist Church.

Ethan MacMillan of Bel Air
Christian, Alexander and Zachary Kilburn, all of Delta
Colton Channell and Josie Channell, both of Fawn Grove
Two great-great grandchildren-
Austin and Arianna Cordreu of Delta
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel J. Blaney.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Delta United Methodist Church, 213 Main Street, Delta with Pastor Judith L. Walker officiating.
