MYRTLE M. WILSON, age 86 years of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Rest Haven - York. She was the wife of George S. Wilson who died on November 4, 1995.

Born in Delta, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Myrtle Mary (Burkins) Cooper, Sr. She began working in area canning houses and later worked at the Delta Sewing Factory. In the 1960's, she worked at the Pen Mar Theater in Cardiff, Maryland. Mrs. Wilson was known for the wonderful cakes she made from her home, from birthday cakes to elaborate wedding cakes of her own design.

She is survived by:

Two sons: James D. Wilson

Donald R. Wilson, both of Delta

Five grandchildren: Kristy Wilson, Jenny Williams, John Wilson, Lori Wilson and Scott Wilson

Two great grandchildren: Alex and Emma Williams

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas E. Wilson who died on June 1, 1993.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 962 Flintville Road, Delta.

The pastor, Rev. Dennis L. McCleary will officiate.

Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
