Odessa Lily Hodge, 76, died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 in her home in Whiteford, MD with family at her side. She was the devoted wife to the late Kermit "Tim" Hodge and the loving mother to 11 children; Judy and her husband Gary Arnold, Rose and husband Robert Ober, Joyce and husband Carmello Leynes, Tammy and husband Johnny Sturgill, Tyonia Barber, Darlene Hodge, Pastor Timothy Hodge and his wife Jamie and the late Carol Osborne, Brenda Hodge, Susan Hodge and Kermit Hodge, Odessa was a grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Odessa loved reading the Bible and her relationship with her Heavenly Father; God was First in her life. Odessa's family was most important to her. She showed great love for her family and friends, and enjoyed sitting and talking to everyone who came by for a visit. Friends of the family were always made to feel welcome, as though they too were a part of the family. "Granny", as many lovingly called her, would often end a visit saying "what's your hurry" since she hated to see her guest leave, or "I love you with a kiss and peck and a hug around the neck." She was a caring woman with great strength, devotion and compassion for others. Odessa enjoyed reading, cooking, canning her garden, playing cards, looking at pictures of her family and bragging about her children and grandchildren. She took great joy in the little things that life had to offer like flowers, sitting on her front porch watching cars go by, or selecting just the perfect Christmas card for each person on her list.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, the 5th at 2:00 p.m.

Her son, Pastor Timothy Hodge will officiate.

Interment will be in Tabernacle Cemetery, Whiteford, MD.
