OPAL M. EDWARDS, age 80 years, of Street, Maryland died on Friday, March 2, 2007

at 4:40 a.m. at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. She was the

wife of James W. Edwards and on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Edwards was born on May 11, 1926 in Renick, West Virginia a daughter of the late James and Laura (Tharp) Shoemaker. A resident of Timonium for 32 years, she and her husband moved to Harford County in 1996. Mrs. Edwards was a supervisor for the Westinghouse Corporation in Cockeysville where she oversaw and trained circuit board assemblers. She enjoyed quilting and was an excellent seamstress. Most recently she turned her talents to making stained glass articles including lampshades and jewelry.

Mrs. Edwards memberships include the Highland Senior Center and the Red Hats. She and her husband attended the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church, Darlington.

Robert L. Clutter of Wrightsville, Pennsylvania

Phyllis J. Belcher of Darlington, Maryland

Charles R. Edwards of Ocean View, Delaware

Six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a son, James W. Edwards, Jr. who died on July 8, 1992 and a sister, Helen Dalinger who died in 1959.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Freewill Baptist Church, 3414 Cedar Church Road, Darlington, Maryland 21034.

Pastor Christopher Karschner will officiate.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at the above address.

Christopher Felts; Rodney Deaner and Robert Preston.
