PAUL ANDREW CROWL, age 82 years of Street, Maryland died at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center on Saturday, December 19, 2009. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth Baldwin Crowl. They observed their 23rd. wedding anniversary on April 19, 2009.
Mr. Crowl was born in Harford County, Maryland on September 5, 1927 a son of the late Carroll W. and Mary Irene (Butler) Crowl. He grew up on the family dairy farm on Grier Nursery Road and was a 1944 graduate of Highland High School. He later attended the University of Maryland. A fourth generation dairyman, Paul and his wife resided at their Garden Fence Farm in Street.
He was the 1949 Ten Ton Tomato Club winner for Harford County, producing 18.18 tons of tomatoes per acre in the 2-6 acre division. His memberships and affiliations were with a variety of groups, both locally and statewide and include the Maryland National Guard, president of the local PTA, State President of Association of Young People of Maryland Farm Bureau, Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Southern States Co-op, Treasurer of Deer Creek Watershed Assn., Member of Deer Creek Local Advisory Board, Board of Directors of Harford County 4-H Camp, Maryland Agricultural Board of Review from 1982 - 1988, Member of the Board of Directors of the former Mid-America Dairymen, Inc., now Dairy Farmers of America from 1985 - 1998, Member of State and National Holstein Assns., Member of the Maryland Agricultural Commission, State committeeman on Maryland Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service Board 1966 -1969; Chairman from 1977 - 1980 and Farm Service Agency from 1993 - 2001, two time winner of the Harford County Conservation Farmer of the Year by Harford County Soil Conservation and 1992 Harford County Farmer of the Year Award winner.
A lifelong member of the Highland Presbyterian Church, he served as an Elder and on the Board of Trustees.

He was preceded in death by his brother, J. Webster Crowl.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 801 Highland Road, Street, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held at the church on Wednesday, December 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
His pastor, Reverend John V. Carlson will officiate.
