PHOEBE NORA (WISE) SHAW slipped silently and peacefully from the bonds of life to be with her Heavenly Father in paradise. Phoebe was born in Delta, PA on August 12, 1941 and remained a resident of Delta for most of her life. She was also a lifetime member of Bryansville United Methodist Church where she spent many years as the organist. Phoebe was also an active of the OES and the MD Lions Club. She was an avid reader and had amassed hundreds of books in her library. She collected owls, lighthouses, Christmas villages, milk glass and could often be found at yard sales with her husband, Dennis. She had a green thumb and loved all of her many plants and flowers. The one thing that people noticed about Phoebe right away was that she loved the color purple. She never missed a day of wearing purple for more than 50 years.
She was the loving wife for 48 years of Dennis E. Shaw of Delta, PA. She leaves two daughters: Michele E. (Shaw) Mullins and Tamara S. (Shaw) Ham as well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin M. Wise and Charlotte E. (Waltermeyer) Wise.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, July 28th at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA beginning at 11 a.m. with her minister, Pastor Donald Rowe will officiate with family member, Pastor John Waltermyer. Inurnment will be in Bryansville United Methodist Church, Delta, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Bryansville United Methodist Church, 2325 Bryansville Road, Delta, PA 17314.
