R. Rolland Morris, 95, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at the home of his son. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, brother Everett "Jim" Morris, and daughter-in-law, Jane Morris.
A funeral service will be held at Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 S. Market St., Fawn Grove, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. David Stough officiating.
Born September 24, 1917 in Fawn Grove, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Beulah M. Morris. Rolland was a member of Fawn United Methodist Church, Mason Dixon Hunt Club, Fawn Improvement Assoc., Friendship F&AM Masonic Lodge for 60 years, Tall Cedars, and the Taylor Haus Breakfast Club. He was also a former member of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Assoc., South Eastern School Board, and Shriners for 50 years. He was a businessman, farmer, hunter, golfer, avid trap shooter, and crafter of the finest homemade vanilla ice cream. Mr. Morris was self-employed as the owner of Fawn Grove Service Station, that he started in 1940 and passed down to his son, Jim, in the 1980's.
He is survived by:
His siblings, Betty Marsteller of New Park and Russell Morris and his wife, Carol of Fawn Grove
His three sons, Dick Morris and his wife, Eleanor of Charlotte, NC; Robert Morris and his wife, Beverly of Fawn Grove; and Jim Morris of Fawn Grove.
His seven grandchildren, Scott Morris and his wife, Carol of Waxhaw, NC; Craig Morris and his wife, Kristi "Kj" of Jackson, WY; Kelly M. Mallory and her husband, Steve of Madison, VA; Todd Morris and his wife, Elizabeth of Fawn Grove; Tom Morris and his wife, Alexis of Shrewsbury; Ann Morris of Baltimore, MD; and Marilyn Morris of Fawn Grove.
His nine great grandchildren, Catie and Grace Morris of Waxhaw, NC; Megan and Travis Mallory of Madison, VA; Brock, Jenna, and Luke Morris of Fawn Grove; N. Kensington "Kensie" Morris of Jackson, WY; and Nyssa Morris of Shrewsbury.
