RALPH I. MCLAUGHLIN, age 90 years, of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, formerly of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 10:12 p.m. in the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Isabel M. McLaughlin who died on November 2, 2000.
Born in Delta, Pennsylvania on July 26, 1920 to the late Abraham Lincoln and Mary Mabel (Wilson) McLaughlin, he was a lifetime resident of Delta. Mr. McLaughlin was a United States Army veteran, serving in WWII. He was a member of Slateville Presbyterian Church in Delta, F. & A.M. #663 of the Harrisburg Consistory, John S. Murphy VFW Post #7130 in Delta, and the American Legion Slate Ridge Post #182 in Whiteford, Maryland.
Mr. McLaughlin retired with over 30 years of service as an auto mechanic from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. He preferred spending the winter season in Florida, enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.
He is survived by:
A son, Ralph I. McLaughlin, Jr., and his wife, Yvonne of Quarryville, Pennsylvania
Two grandchildren-
Brian R. McLaughlin and his wife, Leslie of Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Kimberly I. Tucker and her husband, Jason of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania
Two great grandchildren-Nathan Tucker and Ian Tucker, both of Peach Bottom
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with his pastor, Reverend Carletta R. Curley and Reverend Dr. Michael Wilson of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, Quarryville, Pennsylvania co-officiating.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday morning.
Interment with Masonic Services will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022-2199
