RAY LEON WARNER, 85 years of Airville, PA, died quietly in his sleep on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at York Hospital after a brief battle with lung and bone cancer. Born on July 11, 1930 in Brogue, PA, he was the youngest of three children of the late Paul and Edna (Barnett) Warner. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Wright) Warner, and they shared 59 years of marriage.
In 1948, Ray began working for Borg-Warner as a welder and continued there until pursuing a career in stone and marble quarrying in 1955, mainly at Maryland Green Marble Company in Cardiff, MD. Before leaving from Medusa Cement in 1982, Ray had managed several quarrying and mining operations ranging from cut marble to drilled and blasted limestone. Afterward he spent several years working at the Lebanon Chemical Plant at the former location in Whiteford, MD and had managed the former Farmer's Equipment in Airville, PA. He earned a professional auctioneer license after retirement.
Ray was a community minded person throughout his life serving in both Airville and Delta fire companies and the Lower Chanceford PTA. He coached Little League Baseball, was a trustee and elder at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, and served as Sunday School Secretary. He was an active member of Friendship Masonic Lodge #663 F&AM and the Harrisburg Consistory. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, boating and motorcycle riding earlier in his life, as well as hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed grilling out at family barbecues and was a regular attendee at the Sunnyburn Produce Auction.

Brian Warner, VMD, and his wife Cathy Warner of Gap, PA
Kevin Warner, PhD, of Houston, Texas.
Six grandchildren - Carolyn Ryan and husband Tanner Ryan, Sharon Warner, Keith Warner, Savannah Warner, Elizabeth Warner and Max Warner.
He was preceded in death by siblings Kenneth Warner and Irene Burns Warner.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, the 11th at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, 4263 Delta, Road, Airville, PA 17302, beginning at 11 a.m. with his pastor, Reverend James B. Shuler officiating.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, his family would prefer memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
