REGINA MARY BATES, age 78 years, died on Friday, April 4, 2008 in her home in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of James C. Bates, and they would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on the April 5th.

Mrs. Bates was born on August 13, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland; she was a daughter of the late Stanislaw and Stella (Wdziecky) Zmijewski. She had lived in Baltimore and Florida before setting in the Fawn Grove area approximately three years ago. She had attended Holy Rosary Parish in Baltimore, Maryland and was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She worked for Sparrows Point as a unit weight clerk for thirty-three years. She retired in 1985 and enjoyed spending time in her home and loved her family.

Two children-

Joseph C. Bates and his wife, Noel ; Stanley Richard Bates and his wife, Amy, all of Airville, Pennsylvania

Two grandchildren and five great grandchildren

Numerous nieces and nephews and very devoted friends, Helen & Joseph Foltz of New Freedom, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her siblings:

Elizabeth Ritz, Melvin Zmijewski, Edward Zmijewski and Joseph Zmijewski.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11 AM at Father John the Baptist Church, 315 N. Constitution Avenue, New Freedom, Pennsylvania.
