Reverend Daniel Grant, 92, of Easton, MD, died at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Daniel was born in Waycross, GA, to his late parents, Henry Grant and Perri Lee Merchant on 22 February 1931. Daniel was preceded in death by his late wife Bessie D. (Jackson) Grant, his bothers Thomas Grant and William Henry Grant and his nieces Margo Cameron.

Daniel worked in the health care industry as a Maintenance Engineer. Daniel was an ordained minister. He was a member of North Harford Baptist Church and served on their Prison Ministry. He later came to worship with his wife Bessie at Chestnut Grove A.M.E. Church. Daniel and Bessie devoted many hours visiting, praying, counseling, and worshipping with incarcerated individuals.

He loved nature, being outdoors and fishing. He was gifted, mastering many skills and traits in order to fix anything. He will be remembered for his enthusiastic sense of humor, his humility, and his willingness to always offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Daniel enjoyed his weekly or biweekly conversations with his niece, Gail Moses, and his late wife's aunt, Edna Holland. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time laughing, talking and joking with family and friends. Daniel was noted for having a beautiful tenor voice and had many requests to sing his favorite hymn, "I know Who Holds Tomorrow-But I know Who Holds My Hand."

Daniel leaves to mourn his son, Thomas C. Grant, of Street, MD, his two nieces Veronica Moses, of Irvington, NJ and Betty Bouyati Tampa, FL, two great nieces (Tonya and Marla) one great nephew (Lamar) and his close friend Betty Mason of Easton, MD, and the Mason family.

A viewing will be held on Friday August 25, 2023, at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA, from 11:00 am until Noon. A funeral service will begin in the chapel of the funeral home at Noon with Rev. Dr. Harriet G. McCombs, of Chestnut Grove AME Church officiating. Interment will be held immediately following the funeral at Chestnut Grove AME Church, 828 Coen Road, Street, MD.
