ROBERT GILES, age 70 years, of Aberdeen, Maryland died on Monday, January 1, 2007 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the husband of Florence Rosita Giles. They observed their 8th wedding anniversary on October 26, 2006.

Mr. Giles was born in York, Pennsylvania on September 4, 1936 a son of the late Sanford and Janie (Miller) Giles. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 1997 from Trans-Service, Baltimore, Maryland where he had been employed as a truck driver for over 10 years. In his spare time, Mr. Giles enjoyed working on cars.

One son-Tony Giles of Edgewood, Maryland

One stepson-Rear Admiral Derwood C. Curtis and his wife Towanda stationed in Norfolk, VA

Two sisters

Phyllis McKim and her husband William of Avondale, Pennsylvania

Thelma Washington of Edgewood, Maryland

Also survived by one grandchild, five step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 10 AM at St. James A.M.E. Church, 615 Green Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Reverend Cordell Hunter will officiate.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church from 9-10 AM.

Interment will be in Trinity A.M.E. Cemetery, Delta.
