ROBERT W. HARVEY, age 81 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 7:55 PM at the York County Hospital & Home in York, Pennsylvania. He had been the husband of Belva (Norris) Harvey who died in 1989.
Mr. Harvey was born on December 25, 1923 in Delta, Pennsylvania; he was a son of the late John Russell and Nellie (Williams) Harvey. He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army serving in the European Theater. He had been awarded the Jubilee Medal of Honor by France for his service at Normandy, and the Service Medal with four bronze stars. He was a test driver for Aberdeen Proving Grounds retiring in 1973. He then worked as a truck driver for Miller Chemical at Whiteford, Maryland . He was a member and Past Commander of the Slate Ridge American Legion Post #182 in Whiteford, Maryland and a member of the John S. Murphy VFW Post #7130 in Delta, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by:
Three sisters-
Nancy H. Workman of Delta, Pennsylvania
LaVerne H. Kuester and Mary Anne Lloyd, both of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania
He was preceded in death by:
A companion-Sarah Rhodes
Brothers-
Charles Harvey, Horace (Bud) Harvey, Paul Harvey, and Howard Harvey
Sisters-
Marie White, Audrey Towson, and Shirley Miller
