ROBERT C. SLATER, age 74 years, of Darlington, Maryland died on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 6:42PM at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland.

He had been the companion of Marie Wallace, also of Darlington, Maryland, for eighteen years. Marie held a special place in his heart.

Mr. Slater was born on June 23, 1931 in Stemmers Run, Baltimore County, Maryland; he was a son of the late Bernard L. and Gertrude M. (Bartenfelter) Slater.

He began farming in the Darlington area in 1962 where he operated a dairy farm for many years. After the sale of the milking cows, he continued to raise cattle and grain.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with Reverend Dr. John McKnight of the Evangelical Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 21, 2005 from 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home.
