ROGER FLOYD HALE, age 63 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the husband of Dianna (Lettau) Hale with whom he recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

Born on January 25, 1948 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was a son of the late Robert Floyd and Carrie Ruth (Hackler) Hale. Mr. Hale was a graduate of North Harford High School in Pylesville, Maryland and a United States Army Veteran serving in the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War. Retiring in 2009, he had worked as a Union Boilermaker (NTL) and then as a forklift operator for the former Solo Cup Company in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Hale was a member of the Whiteford, Pylesville, Cardiff Community Association, Inc., North Harford Friends of the Harford County Public Library, Harford County Historic Preservation Commission and the Delta United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hale was a lover of books. He enjoyed life immensely. Roger had a heart of gold and was always ready to jump in and help where needed. He had great pride in his country and community and his main goal in life was to serve his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He truly loved and thought the world of his little four legged daughter Zoe.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

A stepdaughter- Michele Amberman and her husband, Bill of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania

One step grandson- Keith Amberman

His beloved dog Zoe

Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bronda Lee Hale on November 13, 2007, and siblings: Swanson Hale, Harold Hale, Lucy Cullum and Betty Dawson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Delta United Methodist Church, 213 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
