Roger Branson Waddell, age 88 years, of Bel Air, Maryland, formerly of Street, Maryland died on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Stella Maris Hospice. He was the husband of Mattie (Campbell) Waddell. They were married for over 67 years.
Mr. Waddell was born on May 4, 1921 at Grassy Creek, North Carolina a son of the late Eugene and Maude (Perkins) Waddell. He graduated from Virginia Carolina High School in 1939. Roger served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following the war, he worked as a sheet metal worker for over 30 years, first at the Bainbridge Naval Training Center, Port Deposit, Maryland and later at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, from where he retired in 1985. Prior to moving to Bel Air, he was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church for many years. A Master Mason, he was a member of Mouth of Wilson Lodge #223, A.F.& A.M. in Grassy Creek. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time in his large garden.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 daughters

Walter Branson Reeves, Kayla Mae Reeves, Katelyn Rose Vanover and Connor Sean Sullivan.

He was preceded in death by his siblings; Eva Waddell Young, Dwight Waddell, Reka Waddell Shoemake, George Waddell, Helen Waddell Butler, Nera Waddell Duvall and Zenna Waddell Halsey.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.
Officiating will be Reverend Melissa McDade of Norrisville United Methodist Church.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00- 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
The interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
