Life story prepared by her loving family: Rosemary Edna Johnson, "Rose", 70 of Stewartstown, PA passed away on September 29.2023 in York Hospital from a lengthy illness. She was born April 5, 1953, and resided in Columbia, PA, until she relocated to Delta, PA to raise her family. She was the daughter of the late Howard Black and Edna Mae Black (Martin).

In her lifetime, she was a seamstress at D&D Sewing Factory in Delta, PA; Wawa in Hickory; Tom's Super Thrift in Cardiff, MD; a cook at Hart Heritage in Street, MD and worked several years at Gichner's Mobile Systems in Dallastown, PA in the foam department. Rose enjoyed doing word find puzzles, reading romance books, watching game shows, crime shows and wrestling, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going to church. She strived to make everyone around her as happy as she could.

She is survived by the following:

-Brother Richie Martin and wife Camille Martin of Staten Island, NY

-3 children Shalonda Edwards and husband Brian A Edwards, Sr. of Stewartstown, PA; Howard Black, Sr. and wife Jennifer Black of Mt. Caramel, PA; and Richard Black and wife Cyndi Black of York Pa.

-Grandchildren Jordan Black of Dallastown, PA; Alina Johnson of Stewartstown, PA; Shawn Ellis of York, Pa; Leah Black; Michelle Black; Howard Black Jr of York, PA; Danzel Black of York, PA; Marvin Black of West Virginia; Kiera Black of Boston, Massachusetts; and several step grandchildren

-Great-grandchildren Violet Nycole Johnson and Tyson James Allen Little of Stewartstown, PA; Axle King, Valintina Skye, Isaiah, and Xavier, Brianna and Octavious of Tennessee

-Nieces and Nephews Damien Martin and family of New Jersey; Dustin Martin, Ricci Martin and Deanna Martin and their families of Staten Island; Danny Embry and wife Taylene Embry of Millersville, PA and their families; Patrick Embry of Florida and his family; Irene Groff and husband Joe Groff of Seaford, DE and their family; Charmaine Black of Elizabethtown, PA and her family; Leroy Black and girlfriend Carrie of York, PA and their family; Joey Black and his family.

She leaves many close friends behind including, Vanessa Hall, of Delta, PA.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy Black, Sr., BB Black, sister, Kathryn Embry and very close friend Mary Wallace.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, 12 noon at Trinity AME Zion Church, 1006 Main Street Delta, PA 17314. All friends and family are welcome.
