RUBY LEE IRWIN, age 75 years, died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in her home in Street, Maryland. She was the wife of Meredith Basil Irwin, Sr. who died on April 12, 1970.

Mrs. Irwin was born on July 10, 1932 in Logan, West Virginia; a daughter of the late Floyd and Pearl (Damron) Maynard. She had lived in Harford County since 1967. With the unexpected death of her husband at a young age, Ruby went to work for the Harford County Board of Education at North Harford High School in addition to being a mother and homemaker. Ruby retired in 1975 and lived with her daughter, Wanda for the past twenty-five years. Ruby loved her family and was always willing to help others. Ruby delighted in making people smile and laugh. She had a very kind heart.

Wanda Cleary and her husband, Keith of Street, Maryland

Matt Irwin and his wife, Connie of Perryville, Maryland

Linda Testerman and her husband, Roy of Street, Maryland

Pat Irwin and his wife, Denise of Pylesville, Maryland

Twenty-three grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by an infant son on June 11, 1958 in addition to four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, April 2, 2007 from 7 to 9 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 11 AM at the funeral home.

Reverend Henry W. Heaps will officiate.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania.
