RUSSELL B. JOHNSON, age 62 years, of Holtwood, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.

Born on June 11, 1949, he was the son of Esther A. Atkins of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania. Russell attended the former Central Consolidated School in Hickory, Harford County, Maryland. He was a longtime employee of the former Whiteford Packing Company of Whiteford, Maryland, serving as a truck driver.

He leaves:

A daughter, Christina Taylor of Iowa

A stepdaughter, Cheryl Grist of Aberdeen, Maryland

Two grandsons-

B.J. and Gage

Four sisters-

Mary Riccio and Joyce E. Ryan of York, Pennsylvania

Angela M. Bradley of Aberdeen, Maryland

Ellen E. Rosado of Reading, Pennsylvania

Three brothers-

James M. Rice and Jeffrey S. Rice of York, Pennsylvania

Michael E. Jackson of Delta, Pennsylvania

An Aunt Catherine Walters of Washington, D.C.

Many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley A. Johnson and a brother, Harold D. Johnson and his companion, Gertrude Grist.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, 1006 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania. Please contact the family for the service time.
