Obituary

The family of Ruth Vernell (Cutlip) Doss sadly announces her passing on the morning of Wednesday, June 3, 2009.

Born on July 7, 1921 in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, she was one of ten children born to William Colbert and Nora May (Kennison) Cutlip. She was educated at Hills Creek School in West Virginia and was married in Monterey, Virginia to her husband, Marvin C. Doss who preceded her in death. They had shared 70 years of marriage at the time of his death.

Ruth and her late husband loved gardening and looked forward to the spring time of the year when they could spend countless hours together growing flowers and vegetables. She retired from working at the former Glen Eagles Sewing Factory in Bel Air, Maryland in 1985. She will be remembered by her children and grandchildren as a "PILLAR' of the family, always keeping everyone in line and on good terms. Ruth was from what would be called the "old school" and believed if anything was usable or could be fixed, you did not throw it away. She will leave that legacy to her family.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Alma Hannah of Bel Air, Maryland, her brother, Robert Cutlip of Rosedale, Maryland.

Three children-

Donald Doss and his wife, JoAnne

Marvin Doss and his wife, Karen

Daughter Naomi Anders and her husband, Buddy.

Four grandchildren-Debra , Brian, Tammy and Dawn

Four great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8th at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at North Harford Baptist Church, 4008 Old Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville, Maryland 21084; with Reverend John W. Manry, church pastor officiating.
