RUTH M. KILGORE, 85 years, was set free to be with Jesus on Monday, February 29, 2016 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home in Shrewsbury, PA. She was the widow of Randall M. Kilgore, Sr., with whom she had shared 11 years of marriage at the time of his death in June 1981.

Born on January 28, 1931 in Esty, WV, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Annette (Friel) Blake.

Mrs. Kilgore lovingly raised her family in the Airville area. She worked at the former Bata Shoe Company in Harford Co., MD for 20 years and then spent her time cooking, gardening, and caring for her family. She was also a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family extends great gratitude to the staff of SpiriTrust Lutheran - The Village of Shrewsbury, for their loving care.

She is survived by:

Randall Kilgore, Jr., and his wife, Amy of Red Lion, PA

Daughter-in-law, Linda Kitts (wife of her late son, Stephen) of Hollywood, MD

Ten great grandchildren, numerous siblings, nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 48 Muddy Creek Forks Rd., Brogue, PA followed immediately with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Chris Starr will officiate.

Interment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, 962 Flintville Rd., Delta, PA followed by a luncheon back at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
