RUTH THOMAS WALLACE, age 96 years of Street, Maryland died at 5:53 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at her residence in Country Meadows of Leaders Heights in York, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Thomas Heaps Wallace who died on October 25, 2000.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Whiteford, Maryland on April 14, 1912; she was a daughter of the late Jacob Amos and Maria Janet (Griffith) Thomas. She was a graduate of Dublin High School and Millersville State Teachers College. Mrs. Wallace retired from the Slate Ridge Elementary School in Cardiff, Maryland in 1976 after 25 years of teaching. She was a member of the Maryland Retired Teachers Association. She was a longtime member of the Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church where she had served as a deacon and was active in the Women's Association.

Three daughters:
Joyce W. Myers and her husband, Kenneth of Street, Maryland
Wanda W. Tomlinson and her husband, Wayne of Potomac, Maryland
Janet W. Henderson and her husband, Allen of Jarrettsville, Maryland
Also survived by eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Andrew Wallace Potter.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1630 Chestnut Street, Cardiff, Maryland 21160.
Officiating will be the Reverend Henry W. Heaps.
Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta.
Visitation with the family will be held at the church on Friday from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Pallbearers are her grandsons: Kenneth Myers, Jr., Keith Myers, Jeffrey Tomlinson, Stephen Tomlinson, Scott Henderson, Jeffrey Potter and Keith Comer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Slate Ridge Church Memorial Fund at the above address.
