Obituary

RUTH WALLACE, age 103 years died on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at 6:20 a.m. in her home in Street, Maryland. She was the wife of Chester Wallace who died on December 26, 1968.

Mrs. Wallace, who was among the very few who live to experience over one hundred years of life, has always resided in Harford County. She was born in Kalmia, Maryland on Christmas Day of 1902, a daughter of the late Howard and Daisy (Bradford) Stewart. She was a lifetime member of Chestnut Grove A.M.E. Church, Street, Maryland. Her hobbies and interests included knitting, sewing, canning and cooking.

She is survived by:

Three children-

Chester Leroy Wallace of Churchville, Maryland, the husband of the late Thelma.

Robert Eugene Wallace and his wife Edna (McLain) Wallace of Baltimore, Maryland

Edna Holland of Street, Maryland, the wife of the late John Holland, Sr.

One sister - Marguerite Copeland of Bel Air, Maryland

Ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and twenty great-great grandchildren.

Numerous loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Howard Wallace whose wife Olga (Ringold) Wallace resides in Baltimore and by her daughter, Marian Miller whose husband Arnold A. Miller resides in Delta.

She was also preceded in death by her four brothers - Edgar Preston, Monroe Stewart, Stanley Stewart, Reverend James C. Stewart, Sr. and her two sisters - Lillian Stewart and Eleanor Quickley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Chestnut Grove A.M.E. Church, 828 Coen Road, Street, Maryland, 21154.

Her pastor, Reverend William Wingo will officiate.

Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery

Visitation with her family will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Pallbearers will be John Holland, Jr., Michael Holland, Brad Holland, Travis Holland, Theodore Holland, Jr., Gregory Wallace, and Charles Copeland, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold Miller, Clarence Walton and James Nelson Amos.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at the above address
