SAMUEL EVERETT WELLS, age 69 years, died on Thursday, January 15, 2009 in his home in Delta, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Belva (Johnson) Wells and on March 20th, they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Wells was born on April 15, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland; he was a son of Ida Viola (Sims) Wells of Edgewood, Maryland and the late Edward Leonard. He was a lifetime resident of Delta, a member of the Delta Senior Center and Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church in Delta. He had worked for forty-two years at Stewart Ridge Farms, also in Delta. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. His grandchildren brought him great joy.

Neil M. Wells and his wife, Vanessa of Mount Wolf, Pennsylvania

Michael A. Wells and his wife, Edith of Gainesville, Virginia

Fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews

Marian Hall of Delta, Pennsylvania

Sarah Leonard of Wilmington, Delaware

Martha Lewis of Edgewood, Maryland

He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Leonard.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, the 19th at 11 AM at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church 1006 Main Street, Delta with his pastor, Reverend Samuel L. Means officiating.

Interment will be in Trinity A.M.E. Zion Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania.
