LIFE STORY PREPARED BY HER FAMILY: Sara J. (Thompson) Glassman, died at home on Thursday, June 30, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving husband of 51 years, John, her daughter Kim and her son John, Jr. Sara was born to her late parents, Kemper and Hazel Thompson in Havre de Grace, MD.

Sara was a lifelong member of The Church of the Ascension where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, member of the Vestry and Lady's Guild. At various times in her life she was employed outside her home, but her best job was as a mother and grandmother. Her family was the light of her life. She was also the most patient wife and helpmate that a Fire Chief and paramedic could ever ask for.

Sara is survived by her loving and devoted husband, daughter Kimberly (Kirk) Iddings, of Street, MD, and son John Glassman, Jr., of Laurel DE. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kyle, Kole and Kara Iddings and Kemper and Brooks Glassman.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her brothers, George and J. Alan Thompson.

A visitation will be held at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 1 p.m. at The Church of the Ascension, 3015 Dublin Road, Street, MD with Rev. Larry Smith and Rev. Nick McDonald officiating. Interment will immediately follow the funeral in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers for Sara will be; Kirk Iddings, Kyle Iddings, Kole Iddings, John Glassman, Jr., Brooks Glassman and Kemper Glassman. Honorary pallbearers will be Kara Iddings and Robert Glassman.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made in Sara's name to The Church of the Ascension, c/o Treasurer Greg Buckler, 3460 Mill Green Road, Street, MD 21154.
