Shelby Jene A. Almoney, 85, of Delta, PA, died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 27, 2023. She was born in York, PA, to her late parents, Clyde R. P. and Ella (Boyd) Kauffman. Shelby was married to Mr. Paul N. Almoney, until his death in 2015. Her first husband, Robert C. Windon, preceded her in death in 1978.

Shelby will always be remembered as a very loving, devoted and giving person. She worked for many years at the former D&D Sewing Factory in Delta. She cherished her time spent with her family, especially the time she spent shopping with her sisters.

Shelby is survived by her children; Robert C. (Kathy) Windon, of Delta, PA, Jackie Windon, of Helena, MT, Kim Harrold, of Delta, PA and Steph Almoney, of Stewartstown, PA. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; Kristy (Richie) Arrison, Bryan Nielson, Jr., Drew McCleary, Melody Axe, Josh Axe and Eric Almoney. She leaves eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren to cherish her memories.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Shelby was predeceased by a son, Steve Almoney, her grandson, Robert Windon, III and her siblings; Beulah Axe, Audrey Markel, Connie Druck, Bob Kauffman, Larry Kauffman, Ralph Kauffman, Donald Kauffman, Dean Kauffman and Charlie Kauffman.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. A graveside service and interment will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, PA. Certified Lay Minister Carol Burkindine, of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church will officiate at the service.
