SUE CAROL YORK, 73 of Delta, PA, passed away in York Hospital in the early morning hours on Monday, January 13, 2025. Married to Mark Arthur York on October 23, 1997, they had shared 27 years of marriage.

Born in Havre de Grace, MD on November 17, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Johnie R . Holmes and Jean L. (Parthree) Holmes and a 1970 graduate of North Harford High School. Carol had worked as a bartender at the former John S. Murphy Post 7130 VFW in Delta for 20 years. She enjoyed reading, doing needlepoint and cross stitch designs, cooking and baking. Carol was known to love to collect recipes and was certain to purchase the Southern Living annual recipe edition for many years. Watching Gunsmoke and westerns, especially John Wayne movies, was a favorite pastime.

Stephanie Bennington and her boyfriend, Perry Moore of Delta, PA

A brother, David Holmes and his wife, Brenda of Delta, PA

A granddaughter, Madison Bennington.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnie R. Holmes, Jr. in 2013.
