THOMAS O. MATTHEWS, age 77 years of Bel Air died on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Bel Air Health and Rehab Center. He was the husband of Norma A. (Crouse) Matthews. They observed their 52nd. wedding anniversary on June 22, 2008.

Mr. Matthews was born in Darlington, MD on July 14, 1931 a son of the late Thomas O. and Mary A. (Bull) Matthews. He worked as a truck driver for the former Lock Joint Pipe Co. for 20 years. While living in Sebring, Florida from 1978-1982 he delivered oranges and grapefruit to packing houses. From 1983-1993 he worked for Southern States in Jarrettsville and for nine years until his retirement in March 2003 he drove a school bus for Harford County Public Schools. Mr. Matthews was a member of the CrossRoads Community Church in Bel Air.

Rebecca Ann O'Connor and her husband Jerry Wayne of Niceville, FL

Sandra L. Rodgers and her husband Ed of Delta, PA

Michelle J. Ramirez of Fort Walton Beach, FL

Two sisters: Mary A. Dorney of Bel Air

Elizabeth A. Wildason of Bel Air

Also survived by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Life Christian Community, 210 Lee Way, Bel Air, MD.

Officiating will be Pastor Bob Bullis and Pastor Christopher O'Shea.
