TREVERTON W. TAYLOR SR. Known to everyone as "CHIP" passed in the early morning hours on Thursday, August 1, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Ann (Baker) Taylor and at the time of her death in September 2013, they had shared 57 years of marriage.
Born on July 25, 1936 in Broad Top City, PA, Chip had just celebrated his 88th birthday, and was one of five children born to the late Arthur H. Taylor and Dorothy (Marlin) Taylor. A graduate of the former Lower Chanceford School, Chip served in the United States Navy from October 1955 – October 1959. Chip worked for Hess Oil of Delta for 37 years only missing a day and a half during his time of dedication. He served as Secretary/Treasurer for Delta Borough for 35 years handwriting the water bills. His family remarked most people came to their parents' home to make their payments. Chip also worked for PennDOT as a flagman and drove snow plows during the winter months. Everyone who knew Chip commented he was always on time for everything.
A devout Christian who loved his Lord, he attended Woodbine Believers Assembly where he served as an elder and in the nursing home visitation ministry. He also had attended New Covenant Community Church
Chip loved his country, his community, his church, strong in his faith in Jesus and cherished his family. He will be laid to rest next to his dear wife, Betty whom he retired in order to care for her until her crossing over into Heaven.
He is survived by:
Two children:
Treverton W. Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Debbie (Heaps) Taylor and Dawn Elizabeth (Taylor) Inners and her husband Jim Inners.
Six grandchildren: Sarah Haga, Jenny Howdyshell, Jill Royer, Katlyn Schaffer, Josh Inners and Kaci Hoover.
Twelve great grandchildren: Braydn Peck, Lydia Haga, Eva Haga, Gracelynn Howdyshell, Layton Howdyshell, Alayna Howdyshell, Bella Royer, Isaac Royer, Hanna Royer, Josiah Royer, Sadie Shaffer and Rowan Schaffer.

He was preceded in death by two siblings: Arthur H. Taylor, Jr. and Charles Taylor
Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA with a viewing from 10 – 11:45 a.m. followed with the funeral service at noon. His minister, Pastor James Baldwin and Pastor Doug Royer. Interment will be in Tabernacle Cemetery, Whiteford, MD.
