TYRA E. YALE, Jr., age 86 years of Pylesville, Maryland died suddenly at his home on Sunday, February 16, 2014. He was the husband of Charlotte (DeVoe) Yale. They observed their 63rd. wedding anniversary on April 22, 2013.
Mr. Yale was born in Dublin, Maryland on April 13, 1927, a son of the late Tyra E. and Nancy C. (Crouse) Yale. Following his schooling, he worked on the family farm before becoming affiliated with the Operating Engineers Local 37 in Baltimore from which he worked as a heavy equipment operator on various construction projects throughout the area. In 1970, Mr. Yale began his employment with the Bechtel Power Corporation as a civil superintendent at locations in Maryland, Connecticut, Arizona and California. He retired in 1986 from their Hope Creek facility in Salem, New Jersey.
In 1966, Mr. Yale joined Esdraelon Lodge #176, A.F. & A.M., Cardiff, Maryland. Over the years he progressed through the chairs, eventually serving as Worshipful Master of the lodge. He also served terms as Chaplain. In addition to membership in his local lodge, he also became active in numerous Masonic organizations.
His other interests included camping, boating, farm tractors and cars, particularly Mercury's.

Robert Yale of Windsor, PA
Mary Wynola Keene of Darlington, MD
James T. Yale of Fawn Grove, PA
Michael G. Yale, Sr., also of Fawn Grove.
One sister: Irene Osborne of Westminster, MD
Two brothers: David Yale of Delta, PA
Harvey Yale and his wife Olive of Bel Air, MD
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mr. Yale was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Beth Yale who died on January 22, 1964.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.
Officiating will be Reverend James Shuler, pastor of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Airville, PA.
Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, Dallastown, PA.
Viewing for relatives and friends will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
Masonic Rites, led by the officers and members of Esdraelon Lodge, will begin at 8:30 p.m.
