TYRIE E. BUCHANAN, age 86 years of York, PA died on Tuesday, December 03, 2013 at Colonial Manor in York. She was the wife of George Buchanan who died on August 23, 1986.

Mrs. Buchanan was born on September 30, 1927 a daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Julia Agnes (Jones) Miller. Her employment included time at the former Bainbridge Naval Training Center followed by 18 years at Dentsply in York from which she retired over 20 years ago.

She was a lifetime member of the Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, Delta where she was president of the laity, sang in the choir and served on the missionary committee.

One grandson:`James Brown, Jr.

Also survived by three great grandsons and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Buggs and her brothers, Curtis and Arnold Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m. at her church located at 1006 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Her pastor, Reverend Charles E. Smith will officiate.

Interment will be in Trinity A.M.E. Zion Cemetery, Delta.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 – 11 a.m.
