Obituary

WADE ALEXANDER MONN, JR., age 74 years, of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 23, 2011.

Wade was the son of the late Charolette and Wade Monn, Sr. Born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, his family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1942. He attended Kenwood High School and served our country in the United States Air Force. With 39 years of employment, he retired from the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he had worked mostly in the Mobile Equipment Shop #2.

In December of 1966, Wade (Sonny) married JoAnn Horn. The couple relocated to Forest Hill, Harford County, Maryland. "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" best described Sonny's interests. He was one of the founders of the Ma & Pa Railroad Preservation Society and worked tirelessly to restore the trains and buildings of the Muddy Creek Forks Historical Village in Southern York County. He also enjoyed restoring World War II airplanes with dedicated friends.

His wife, JoAnn of 44 years.

His son, Wade, III and his wife, Cassandra of St. Paul Minnesota

His daughter, Caryn Wick and her husband, Warren and his grandson, Sebastian of Washington, D.C.

Sonny was a loving brother to Barbara Monn and Lula Lucas. He was loved by many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Fellowship Chapel, 3821 Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville, MD 21084.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
