Obituary

Wanda Mae Griffith, 77, of Darlington, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in Harford County, Maryland.

Born on August 24, 1949, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Andy Clyde Poole and Icie Virginia (Poole) Poole.

Wanda was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She was the co-owner of Griffith Log Hauling and a loving mother to her four children. Known for her generous heart and welcoming spirit, Wanda never knew a stranger. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved, welcomed, and cared for.

Wanda especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whether playing together, sharing stories, or simply enjoying one another's company. She was always ready to make sure everyone had something to eat, and no one ever left her home feeling unwelcome. Her kindness extended well beyond her family, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

To Wanda, family was everything, and the friendships she built throughout her life were just as meaningful. She shared a special friendship with Kathy, whom her family lovingly regarded as one of her closest friends. Wanda's warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for others will leave a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Wanda is survived by her loving children, George Ivan Griffith, Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania; Charles Allen Griffith and his wife, Stacie, of Conowingo, Maryland; and Janice Virginia Roddam and her husband, Cliff, of Darlington, Maryland. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Tina D. Griffith, of Delta, Pennsylvania.

She was a cherished grandmother to Justin Griffith, Cody Griffith and his wife, Jess, Clifton Roddam and his wife, Rene, Jonathan Griffith, Amber Griffith, Ryan Roddam, Aaron Roddam, Cyle Griffith, Christopher Griffith, Grace Griffith, and Conner Griffith. She is also survived by three beloved great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Norman Griffith, and her son, Clayton Andrew Griffith.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Wanda's life on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Church of Delta, 962 Flintville Road, Delta, Pennsylvania 17314.

Additional visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at which time a funeral service celebrating Wanda's life will begin, with Pastor Jerry Carr officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Nebo Church of Delta Cemetery.
