WILLIAM THOMAS CORDWELL, age 84 years, of Brogue, Pennsylvania died on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Maria A. (Schmid) Cordwell who died on August 4, 2006.

Born on January 8, 1925 in Beaverdale, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late William and Ellen (Shaw) Cordwell. Mr. Cordwell was a veteran of the United States Navy in WWII serving as a Seaman Second Class, followed by 20 years of service with the United States Army. Living previously in Delta, Mr. Cordwell had resided in Brogue for the past 37 years and had been employed as a mechanic for 18 years for Consolidated Freight, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed traveling, especially in the mountains. He cherished his family and truly enjoyed life.

Lydia Christine Cordwell of Windsor, Pennsylvania

Thomas Robert Cordwell and his wife, Dee of Brogue, Pennsylvania

Ellen Maria Brownson and her husband, Tim of Airville, Pennsylvania

Four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by:

A daughter, Shirley Velma Cordwell, son, William James Cordwell and siblings-

Laura Cordwell, Velma June Hammach, James Leroy Cordwell and Robert Edward Cordwell.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27th from 6 to 8 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, the 29th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III, pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Parish, Pylesville, Maryland officiating.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pylesville, Maryland.
