Obituary

WILLIAM ELMO SCOTT, 92 of Red Lion, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Seaton Springwood, York, PA. Married for nearly 66 years, he was the beloved husband of Mary Lou (Urey) Scott whom he married on July 21, 1956.

Born on May 30, 1930 in Cardiff, MD, he was a son of the late Paul R. Scott and Anna Mary (Price) Scott and a 1948 graduate of the former Delta High School in Delta, PA. Bill attended Temple University taking studies in Dairy Technology. Bill served in the United States Navy from 1950-1954. He had worked as a dairyman for the Sylvan Seal Milk Company of Philadelphia, Borden's Ice Cream in Delaware and for A&P Dairy in York, PA. In addition, he had worked at the Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard.

Bill attended the Norwood U.M. Church of Norwood, PA for over 40 years where he had served on several committees, was on the church bowling team and was active in church activities. After moving to Red Lion, he was attending St. Paul's U.M. Church of Red Lion.

Bill especially enjoyed bowling, fishing and being with his family. Staying in touch with his Delta friends was important to him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

Two daughters-Sharon DiEnno and Barbara Scott; Sisters: Margaret Bowers, Elaine Derickson and Sandi Jones. Five grandchildren: Lisa DiEnno, the late John Neifert, III; William Scott Neifert; Audrey Lacroce and Paul Neifert. Six great grandchildren: Olivia Rose, Claire Neifert, Isabelle Neifert, Penelope Bareng, Summer Neifert and Paul Neifert, Jr.

Four sisters have preceded him in death: Helen Carbonneau, Eleanor Strickler, Anna Mary Davis and Ruth Helton. Four brothers have also passed before Bill: Price Scott, Curtis Scott Robert Scott and Edward Scott.
