April 22, 1943 – August 21, 2021
WILLIAM (BILL) FRED BAKER, SR., age 78 years, of Delta, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021.
His life was well lived, and he was well-loved. The Lord called him home, with his family by his side. This gentle, loving, caring, and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be extremely missed by his wife and best friend of 56 years, Katherine Carol (Blackwell) Baker, and his children William Fred Baker, Jr. and Shelia Denice Adams.
Born on April 22, 1943, in Crumpler, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Julian French and Virginia Lee (Haynes) Baker. Bill had worked for over 20 years as a licensed plumber, then in 1986 changed careers to a Union carpenter. He was a member of the Local Union 101 Carpenters Union for 21 years before retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Delta Senior Center and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting, going to turkey shoots, collecting old coins and rare guns, listening to "Oldies but Goodies" music, and watching professional sports and westerns. He loved spending time with his faithful dog, Tinker. He cherished his family and truly enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
His son, William F. Baker, Jr., and his wife, Carolyn of Elkton, MD
His daughter, Denice Adams of Delta, PA
Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
One brother, Richard O. Baker
