WILLIAM H. FANTOM, age 84 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of the late Laura Fantom who died in 1989.
Mr. Fantom was born on January 23, 1923 in Havre de Grace, Maryland a son of the late John and Maggie (Cantler) Fantom. He was a lifetime resident of Delta and a longtime farmer. After many years of farming the homestead, he sold his farm in 1997. He later became an employee of S. David Stewart, and there he assisted with all aspects of the farm. Definitely a familiar sight in the community was seeing Bill driving the tractor and wearing an old farm cap.
He was a long time member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Delta. Due to his health, he had spent the last few months of his life living with his son, John and his wife, Sharon in their Red Lion home.
He is survived by:
Three children

J. Robert Fantom of Delta, Pennsylvania
Susan Henry and her husband, Larry of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania
Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
Many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, James Keith Fantom who died on October 27, 1997 and a step-son, Fred Lambert.
Visitations will be held on Sunday evening May 13, 2007 from 6-8 PM and on Monday, May 14th from 10 -11 AM. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta.
Funeral services will follow the visitation on Monday at the funeral home beginning at 11 AM with his minister, Pastor Dennis L. McCleary officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Delta,
Pallbearers will be Marlyn Flaharty, S. David Stewart, Sam Wells, Garry Beard, Jeff
Beard and Donald Merryman.
