WILLIAM H. GERLACH, III, age 81 years, of Street, MD died on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. He was the husband of Mary (Davis) Gerlach with whom he had shared 57 years of marriage.

Born on August 28, 1932 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late William H. Gerlach, Jr., and Ruth (Williams) Gerlach. Retiring in 1994, Mr. Gerlach originally was a farmer, followed by owning and operating a greenhouse business.

Mr. Gerlach was an active member of the Dublin Grange and had served as Master. He was a past president of the Stepping Stone Museum in Havre de Grace, MD and was very active in the support of the Boy Scouts. A faithful member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, Mr. Gerlach had served the church in numerous positions.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

A son, Michael Davis Gerlach of Street,MD

A sister, Jane Mullendick of Jarrettsville, MD

Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Gerlach.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1630 Chestnut Street, Whiteford, MD 21160 where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA.
